The Foxcroft East swim team
is comprised of the following Groups:

Developmental Group - Intended for 4 through 6 year old swimmers who require in-depth skills and technique instruction in the basics of swimming. Children at this level are not yet ready to compete (i.e. can't finish one lap of freestyle unassisted) in swim meets. As Developmental Group swimmers' skills and confidence improve, they may be moved up into the Gator Bits for expanded skills work and participation in swim meets.

Gator Bits - Represent our more adept 6 & under swimmers. They are capable of swimming one lap of freestyle unassisted and may be ready to progress to the other strokes. Gator Bits swimmers will usually be entered in their respective 6 & U freestyle events at swim meets. Ribbons are awarded to the 1st through 4th place finishers, and heat ribbons will be given to all heat winners. Participation ribbons will also be given to all swimmers upon completion of the race.

Age Group Swimmers - Swimmers aged 7 through 14.

7-10 compete in 25 meters. 11-14 compete in 50 meters.

This group may compete in:

  • free style
  • back stroke
  • breast stroke
  • butterfly
  • individual medley
  • medley relay
  • free style relay

Each swimmer can compete in 3 individual events and 2 relays. Ribbons will be awarded for the 1st - 4th place finishers with heat ribbons also awarded to all heat winners. If your child is an alternate for one of the relay teams, that counts as one of their two relay events. It is important for your child to stay for the entire meet if assigned as either an active participant or alternate on a relay team.

Seniors - Swimmers aged 15 - 18. Compete in 50 meters.

This group may compete in:

  • free style
  • back stroke
