Michelle Parkhurst

Head Swim Coach

This will be my third season coaching at FXE. I have lived in Charlotte for almost 5 years. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher at Tuckaseegee Elementary in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I grew up in Northern Virginia and have been swimming competitively since I was 6 years old. I went to Clemson University and swam on the team for 4 years. During my time at Clemson, I set 3 individual school records and was a team captain my senior year. My junior year I received the ACC Swimmer of the Meet award at the ACC Championships. To stay fit currently, I enjoy running, biking and swimming, which has lead to a new hobby of mine: triathlons!

Mitchell Cooper

I have been swimming competitively since I was five years old. I swam for Team Charlotte Swimming for eight years, during which time I qualified for numerous NC State Championships, Southeastern Sectional Championships, and Southern Zone Championships. I also swam all four years of high school for South Mecklenburg. I recently graduated from Emory University in Atlanta with a Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Master's in Professional Accountancy.  I swam for Emory each of my four years of college, qualifying for the Emory Conference team and NCAA Championship team each year. As a senior, I helped lead our men's team to our program's first ever NCAA National Championship.  I will begin working for Grant Thornton in the fall of 2017.  This is my fourth season coaching at FXE.
